$65,000 in debt, with no job and no family, I moved to Australia to follow my purpose…
… and the first thing I did was buy a Kombi Campervan; transport and accommodation of course! … oh, and I also worked out what my Purpose was and would love to help you do the same thing.
Put your details down below to discover something amazing …
This has not been released to the public yet, however I don’t have the privacy setting set up so can’t stop you seeing these awesome realisations. I’ll probably charge $97 for this although to be honest, I’m sure you’d pay 100 times that to get the results you’ll get if you follow the steps.
If you want to read my story, here’s a brief outline:
One cold and rainy evening in Manchester in November 2002 I was sitting in my studio flat collecting water in pots around the room and staying warm in front of my two bar heater. I was working in a job I didn’t enjoy, in a country I didn’t want to be in and all I dreamed of was being back in Australia.
So with a debt of about A$65,000, no visa to work, and a one-way ticket I decided to set off for Australia to follow my dream – it was my Backpackers Dream. (BTW I chose Brisbane because it was the biggest city in my favourite climate in my favourite country!)
2 years previously, I’d just finished 2 ½ years travelling around NZ and Oz and during that time, I somehow got the idea that I was going to develop a special kind of backpacker hostel which would be a cross between The Beach, Hotel California and an Awesome Rainforest retreat.
Backpackers Dream
At this retreat, called the Backpackers Dream, people come and stay for a while and amongst the varied practical, artistic, healthy and musical activities provided, they learn some brilliant wisdom to help them communicate more effectively, understand themselves and the world better and importantly identify what their Purpose is.
During that first excursion to NZ and Oz, I was recommended and picked up a 2nd hand self-help book and found the content mildly interesting. I didn’t quite finish it before I returned to the UK but, as a result of that chance book purchase, I ended up spending a ridiculously huge sum of money on a 3½ day workshop in London to learn about myself. I felt like they must have seen me coming as back in 2001, the course cost over A$1,700!
It is still probably the most pivotal thing I’ve ever done when I look at my life. Apart from the tips, exercises and knowledge I gained from the experience, there was one other thing which for me, was worth the $1,700 alone …
Anyway, back to the purpose of this all – I became a personal development junkie and ended up learning all about the rules to the game of life. From London, I flew to tropical locations such as Hawaii and the Gold Coast to go to seminars with some of the world’s top leaders, speakers and teachers. I had read a good selection of books and listened to and watched hundreds of DVDs and audios. During this inner adventure of discovery, I gained a certain clarity of what I believe my purpose is and funnily enough, it is to do exactly what I thought was missing when I was travelling.
I worked out that my Purpose in life is to help backpackers find their purpose in life!
Who am I to be able to teach you some of the skills of life?
After spending well over $100,000 on my education, I’ve decided to take the essence of what I’ve learned and teach it to You because the learnings have helped me overcome some pretty big obstacles and may be able to help you.
Other things I’ve accomplished:
- I fixed 13 years of daily back pain.
- I’ve visited and lived in 30 countries.
- I fasted for 20 days on juice and water, just to see what would happen!
- I meditated for 11hrs+ per day for 10 days straight, because it just felt like the right thing to do at the time.
- I developed personal development training materials used by International Speakers and sold all around the world.
- I did a stand up comedy course and performed in front of 150 people and also made money from being a nude model.
- And plenty more … I’ll save the rest for later
One of the skills I feel I have been blessed with in life is the ability to take complex ideas and make them simple. As a result, you get the core of the information without the expense of hundreds of hours studying and tens of thousands of dollars.
I have FREE talks around Brisbane on this information coming up on – post a comment if you’re interested in more.
I’d really like you to come and hear what I have to say for your own good, because I’ll be sharing exactly the kind of stuff I wished someone had told me when I was travelling. Without a doubt it would have meant HEAPS more fun, much more confidence, better relationships and more money!
David
